People have been using HCG injections with a very low calorie diet (VLCD) to lose weight since the early 1950′s. HCG stands for human chorionic gonadotropin which is a hormone produced in extremely large amounts by pregnant women.

The weight loss process was pioneered by an Italian doctor named Dr. Simeons. Until relatively recently his HCG weight loss process was only available to the rich and famous as it was kept somewhat secret. It was typically being used in high class European spas and weight loss clinics.

However, with the advent of the internet and the explosion of information available to the not so rich and famous, the use of HCG to assist with weight loss is becoming more well known.

What Dr. Simeons discovered was that with carefully dosed amounts of HCG and a very carefully monitored and controlled diet, often referred to as the ‘HCG diet’ when coupled with the HCG shots, that patients could lose up to a pound of fat per day. The fat that is lost is typically adipose fat. This is the unsightly fat found on the hips and buttocks of women and around the waists of men.

The removal of this fat produces extreme changes in one’s appearance as their entire body shape is completely altered. They literally have a totally different shape. Further, there is very little muscle loss on this diet as well. The HCG just seems to target the exact fat that most people are looking to lose.

With the plethora of weight loss methods available today, there are bound to be questions about one that so strictly targets the problem areas. However, HCG injections have withstood the scrutiny and have proven to be one of the safest methods of rapid weight loss available today. Virtually no side effects have been noted, and few if any complications have been observed. Other than changes in blood pressure (lower) and blood sugar levels (lower), the only other effect it seems to have is the fat loss.

For those looking for a way of losing a lot of weight quickly, HCG injections for weight loss might just be the answer.
