One of the main reasons why a lot of us want to shed weight is because we want to be healthier, which is why we need to lose weight the healthy way. There are no shortcuts when it comes to quick weight loss. In fact, it takes a lot of determination, time and patience if you want to lose weight successfully, as this kind of thing doesn’t happen overnight.

The body likes slow changes. Crash diets or sudden bursts of exercises are not a healthy way to lose weight quickly; it will only shock your system, and you will end up gaining back any weight you lost this way.

It is not ideal for a person to suddenly go into dieting or exercising, as this will only leave you unmotivated and possibly even make you ill. You can also get injured this way, which could take you several steps back further from your goal. When trying to lose weight, gradually getting into your weight loss plan will bring you far better long term results than the sudden, drastic lifestyle changes will.



Improper dieting will not only leave you starving, but might also deprive your body from receiving necessary vitamins and nutrients. You would feel a lot weaker when this happens, and you would not be able to do the exercises necessary for losing weight.

The first step that you would need to do to lose weight in a healthy way is to change your lifestyle. Keep away from sweets like cakes and brownies if you know that you can’t stop yourself from eating them. But again, you would need to do this slowly. Start with eating just the half of a brownie, until you can completely stay away from it. Changing your lifestyle allows you not only to lose weight, but enables you to maintain it for the rest of your days.

Increasing your activity levels helps a lot in losing weight. You don’t have to necessarily go the gym, as little activities such as walking 20 minutes a day can do a lot for your figure.

You could also increase the activity level of things that you usually do in a day, such as using stairs instead of elevators, or using the basket instead of the cart while in the grocery. If you have a baby, you can cradle them in your arms while standing up or walking instead of using a rocking chair to lull them to sleep.

Reducing your calorie intake is a BIG must if you want to lose weight. You don’t have to follow any radical diets for quick weight loss, but you can’t continue on with the same old eating habits, especially if you are overweight.

And this doesn’t mean that you can never ever have any of the ‘forbidden’ foods you like, such as cakes and desserts, for the rest of your life. You can have a bite or two these kinds of foods during parties or other special occasions, but you just can’t overdo it and expect to be successful at losing weight.

Having a schedule of when you can indulge in some of your favorite forbidden foods is a tactic that works for some people. For instance, you could plan to have a couple of bites once a month, or a slice of cake once a year – on your birthday.

It might sound absurd but it’s actually a great way to lose weight quickly and maintain your figure without depriving yourself too much. If you know that you have an occasion coming up when you can have a treat, it makes it a little easier to do without for awhile.
